I'd say the new focus rs will be €50,000 here as it's going to be about 26/28 sterling when launched.

Dec did you get any official price on it yet?
 
Considering the mk2 rs was selling for list 2 years after release with 10k miles on them I'd say it's about the only new car I would consider...still making 22 now with 30k miles on...it's never happened with any car in that price bracket, they sold for 26...the new one will be in even higher demand.
I think you'd have a better chance getting one new on a low rate finance loan or lease deal than picking one up second hand...if you have the means and connections in ford stick a deposit down , you could probably put 5k miles on it and make a profit going back to UK.
 
It is mad to see how well they have held their value I'm searching at the minute for a white 09/10 and they can't be got for under 20k sterling

It's happened with a couple of Porches , Cayman for one, but then they have a steep drop off ..it's like the mk2 became a instant classic..I think the new one would be better value, especially if you could get it on 0% finance. I think it will trash the Type-r in deserability ...you can't underestimate the Brits love of fast fords
 
The brits do love their ford but don't forget it's goin global for the first time and in the us and oz you are either GM or ford so I think the numbers the new one will sell could possibly dilute the cult status a little bit

Good point, mustang will also be in the dealerships...not direct competitor but bound to turn heads especially if the v8 is under 30k
 
As above hopefully someday there will be a green mk2 rs focus on my drive and hopefully an arched mk2 escort in the same color in the shed beside the scooby!!

A fella can dream i suppose!!!
