my pu-ka project

So off to a private road local to us for a bit of testing and it went very well only two issues with it.
One was the idle screw came loose and jammed the throttle closed so big thanks to @dunnervts for his help and tools to fix it on the spot.
Next issue is that the alternator is overcharging alot we were seeing nearly 20 volts on the meter so we disconnected the alternator and it was grand. Need to get the alternator checked and solve the problem but overall I'm very happy with its first drive in 9 months. Some work still to do but we are close [emoji16][emoji108]

That sounds savage Dec and goes like stink. Very cool!

Cheers Jamie, I think it's a bit too loud so I'll be fitting another silencer but it does go well can't wait to see what Aonghus can do with it [emoji106]

So as you can hear in the first video the exhaust I made was extremely loud and annoying to be honest. So last night I added another silencer to the system, a power flow unit sounds much better now, it actually sounds like a fiesta st150 race car [emoji16]

I'm sure that's lot easier to live with Dec... but have to admit... I loved the aggressive rasp prior.
Exactly Jamie it sounded very aggressive and raspy but honestly in the car it was too intense much better now but still loud enough to sound well on mondello main straight

Last few bits done on the ka.
Replace the mazda alternator with a Ford one as the mazda unit does not have a regulator in the alternator. Now it's charging [emoji106].
The manifold had a slight air leak at the inspection plate so I removed it and resealed it.
Also fitted the oil catch can that Adrian Dunne donated to the cause [emoji106]
New ram-air induction kit installed in the left headlight
Ready for mapping now after a long conversion can't believe it is last August since this was on track [emoji15]
Thanks to David Nolan Adrian Dunne and Micheal Carey for all their help [emoji106] off to Ap performance now hopefully it makes decent powerDSC_0077.jpgDSC_0078.jpgDSC_0079.jpgDSC_0080.jpgDSC_0081.jpgDSC_0082.jpgDSC_0083.jpgDSC_0084.jpgDSC_0085.jpgDSC_0086.jpg

She sounds a like a mad wasp there. Fair play Dec and lads that helped along the way :clap::clap:

Had the ka down in galway with aonghus power for mapping today 160.1 bhp and 139.6 lb/ft torque. He ran into a few issues with it,
first issue was that the omex wasnt Reading engine temp correctly from the mazda ect ( I need to order the omex unit) he sorted that out with a resistor to get the ecu temp Reading to where he wanted it.
Off he went mapping it on the dyno and after he had ran through all his parameters and had it running sweet afr perfect etc then he tried a power run and he was having major leaning at the top 1000 rpm he said the fuel pump wasnt pumping enough fuel for the engine size. It is my own fault!! For some reason i taught i had Uprated the pump to the puma unit but my mate was with me and he confirmed i hadnt [emoji849][emoji35] so aonghus mapped it to a lower rpm limit of 6k until i get a new pump and ect. I need the car for monday so im happy with that.
Power is
160.1 flywheel bhp
139.6 lb/ft flywheel torque
@6000 rpm limit

Ye Joe 170 bhp would make it about 204 per ton so that will be quick

Great numbers!
Such a pity about the pump. Think this is a good excuse to pull out that tank and fit a little cell[emoji106]
