My MY08 Subaru Exiga GT

Outback

Sunday Drivers
Was sitting looking at Facebook the other day and up came this very unusual Subaru in a forsale add. I was dabbling with the idea of an impreza or something Subaru again with a 2.0 turbo engine, but wasn't sure what.

It was unusual in that I had never seen one before. Ever. I looked at a few reviews on YouTube and messaged the seller on messenger asking if I could view it the following morning.

Headed to work the following morning and got myself sorted so I could get away for 2 hrs while I got up to view it.

Got there and the car was waiting. It looked great 100% as discribed and on test driving it the deal was done. Turned out it was an isdc member that was selling it. So it made for a. More relaxed buying experience. Thanks Jayo.

Looking forward to getting it on the road.

Getting the timing belt and a small oil leak sorted this week. New rear wiper.

I am genuinely jealous. As a wagon man this car just calls to me also. I love the fact that you wont probably every meet another one on the road. It sort of looks like a Legacy GT wagon went to the gym and ate a lot of beefcake!! Cannot believe how clean it is underneath too.

I hope I get to see this in the flesh some day. Well wear man, you have bought a gem.

Out of interest, how did you get on with the insurance? I am stuck with Aviva ripping me off for years as I couldn't get anyone else to insure my GT with 11 years no claims. Nobody would touch a JDM, actually where does everyone actually insure because I am paying €800 a year fully comp and I have 3 other cars and a company car.

Congrats Eric looks very nice

But as above I hope you looked into insurance and vrt as imo this car will be a nightmare for boat

Congrads Eric 👍👍 look forward to seeing it as it looks great 👍
There’s a few in the country already do shouldn’t be a hassle with vrt or insurance as I use to see 2 in Dublin all the time on the Naas road 👍👍

Haven't looked into either insurance nor vrt. It's not on the vrt Web site so I look at it as a legacy GT and it came up as €1650 but I recon having talk to Dave that it could be more like €2500.

Insurance should be fine.

fingers crossed and hope for the best, be great to see you back in a scooby👍

I love this, looks great, great pace and practicality, I love something different, best of luck with it 👍

I have my legacy GT insured with Allianz through Chill. about 2 years back the policy renewal halved and now pay around 400 euro a year. JDM import, 10 plus years no claims etc. Ask about the policy with Allianz. also the VRT on my legacy GT over 5 years ago was 680 euro for reference. Has gone up a lot since. Car looks great BTW. Good luck with it.

Went for vrt Wednesday morning. This is the first one in the country. Still waiting for them to come back to me with a cost.

In the meantime I got the head ights restored. I ordered a set of speedline 18'' alloys for it and got centre caps for the winter wheels.
