My 2005 Subaru Impreza Sti Spec C Type Ra On the Way from Japan

Start a new blog yourself, its your car now so good to keep track from when you bought it to all the bits you've done tidying it up, remap, etc

No PIC at the AGM but maybe the next biggish event, mine is off the road for the moment while I do a few bits that I've neglected for a while. Took delivery of a few bits today, so I'll be getting stuck into it once I free up some time in a few weeks.

I agree with the back wheels being a no for me after looking at some pictures , the wheels just look nothing in black on the car .
I will have a think about the Gun metal grey colour but would anyone have any Colour codes or examples of some Grey's That are nice ?

The 17s will have to stay on the car for the minute and just do a colour i like as i have other thing to do first like get my bits fitted and the car full serviced and gearbox oil and diff oil changed ect.

picked up some other bits for her over the past couple of weeks :
RCM 3'' Downpipe
RCM 3'' Centre Section
Ati Dash Surround
Toda Kevlar Timing Belt
Aisin Water Pump

Did you take the inner wheel arch liner off the car or did it come in that way?

Try not to drive it with that missing, stones will dent your wing from the inside out and your paint will chip in bits. :wall:

Yep i removed the wheel liner just to check in behind there and make sure no rust or rot , Also Pulled The Inner Boot Liner Back today and cleaned down in behind there and all nice and Rust And Rot Free , Here are some pictures :

Also Gave the Drivers seat and carpet a Quick Wash and Wipe , Came up Nice and clean.
I forgot to mention some Fucker stole My Front Genuine Mats From the car when it was At the Dublin Docks or On the Boat :icon_sad: , I have sent forward a Claim Report about them but i dont think i will get anywhere.

So i purchased a set of Tailored Super Velour Black Mats with Red Stitched STI , They will have to do for now but i will not be letting it go with the port and shipping company about my mats as i have pictures of the car before it left japan and as it went onto the boat with the Genuine Front Mats still in the car.

Any time I import a car I always have the matts, the head unit, the gear knob, and the wheel centre cap removed and sent to me via DHL. Got burned on my first two imports and the ecus were stolen

Ill know in future , Thankfully rear 3 piece mats are still there , Makes me sick though as the original mats where very clean in front too :icon_cry:
Head unit and gear-knob still there thank God :icon_rolleyes:

:wtf:Your man Ciaran probably swiped them ... Lol..
You could wax oil or wax coat under the liners when you have them removed... Might be an idea??

Could be wrong but I think you have to make the claim on the port before removing the car.

Good stuff man she looks mint, can't wait to see it.

If you want to post pics and have them shown instead of links just copy and paste the img code like nk on photobucket instead.

No your correct on that , i had to bring the car over the other side of the port on the tow truck to get a report sheet and signed that he seen the front mats where gone from the car.

To be honest if anyone does know who has them please let me know ill gladly buy them from the person with no trouble or arguments about them as he wasn't to know.

Yep i have got some Anti Rust paint for under the arches , when i have the wheels and that off for painting i will go at them and do nice neat job and get some pictures posted , i will not be painting in behind the liner as its nice and fresh and i wont be driving it in the rain or that much really , just doing the parts that are exposed when wheel liner is fitted.

Thanks man ill post them that way in future  , Should have her ready and mapped ect by end February or mid march will have her out soon as she's done :smokesubaru :turbo:

I was thinking more on the lines of a coating of wax rather than painting..

Wonder would the mats you buy here from the main dealer be the same type?

I know years ago I got a V6 on and there was a mad jap Kenwood touchscreen stereo in it, when I collected it it was gone and I was absolutely sickened....
Only consolation was that nothing was damaged or cut, I've heard of horror stories.

They get stripped on the boat I've heard
Not the port

It depends if the boat is a roro boat or containers

There is a Philipino somewhere riding around with your matts hanging on the cross bar of his bike.... Gangsta stylee

Ye i will prob throw a coat of wax in under the liners and that , as for the parts that is not covered by the liners it is already has an anti rust spray paint on there and is nice and neat not that thick sloppy stuff , but it has a few stone chips under there on it as you can see to the right of the picture below the black part so i will just be topping that up really.

As for the mats im not too sure , i will get onto Subaru tomorrow and see can they be got from here in Ireland and the same ones , if so ill be forwarding on a printed estimate too

It Was a Roro boat , Container shipping is a fair bit more expensive and all cars shipped these days are mainly Roro i think .
Here is some pictures of some other cars that came off the boat too and where in the yard :
