Ken Block's Escort Cosworth 2.0

Fair play Alan great to see you enjoying remember hearing you had a good run last year. How?s the weight saving coming on is it all drilled out and two of ye having to do stages in underpants [emoji16][emoji16] or did you find an easy solution

This thread has all the regulars fired up!

We got to the end of Letterleague the first time through on last year's Donegal and the two time keepers burst out laughing with the roars from the car at the stage finish. We were after driving the nuts out of a relatively standard Impreza and gobbling up Evo 9's. And we got to do it again on the Saturday.

Sometimes I wonder if the R5 boys are loosing out on some of the fun. Competing at that level is very expensive. Those 4 corners cost a lot. A wing for an Impreza is ?60. As a spectator I will applaud any driver who is trying..... from a 1.4 Nova up to an S12B.

I'm half way through a year of nixers just to get the chance to do it again. Unfortunately Ken Block's announcement means that I, or another clubman might not get an entry for this year. You never know - he might opt to do "00"

Can everyone agree its the only place to be this June? Accommodation is booking out fast!
Great point Alan. The R5's are a serious game and fair play to them.
However when first started rallying everyone was out for 'the crac' as the cars werent worth any more than 4k or 5k and i also think its a pity that this fun aspect might be getting lost for the want of 'trying to win'.
Still wont stop me going to Clonakilty next weekend tho!

Any sign of Mr I30N? Is he still counting up his championship wins! :)
It's an opinion, which we are all entitled to. if you want to try and bait me and drag me down to your level like you've tried to do in other people's posts your very much barking up the wrong tree. Smart arse comments like that might give a few giggles to the few, but contribute nothing in the way of constructive opinions here. Thanks

Well I asked you a constructive question the other night and you still haven?t answered me.
You seem to run from questions a bit!
You?d know all about here sure... paid up member and all the events you go to.

Opinions are like arseholes...... I?m sure you know the rest.

They would still be competing to try and win. And wouldn't be entering for the 'craic', be it class win or over all win. Any way back to Ken block, it's just marketing exercise. Pure and simple.

Bullshit!!! I wouldn't... And I know most mates who are currently compete in Rallying, Auto Testing & Hill Sprints mostly all go out for the 'craic'. If we all lived by your mantra that you should only enter to win, then we would't have much Motorsport in this country.

Personally, I know I don't have the skill or talent to be at the top of the podium... but I'd still love to do it just for the experience.

I'm not a Ken Block fan... just bored of him now. But I do admire him for his love of cars and the ones he's built. If he can make money off doing something he loves and ride the coat-tails of his success with DC shoes to enjoy his love of Motorsport... good for him. That would be my life ambition and most of us here if we were to be honest!

Slipped off the road into a hedge. Easily done in this weather. Even breen is off the pace finding it slippy in places!

So he only got one stage, I was being generous by asking how many he would get. Think my original points have been proven. He had absolutely no business there in the first place.

Have a good look at it lad. 7th overall in the national with the most unbelievable entry the country has ever seen and lead the class by 18 secs after the first stage??????
Not sure you know what you are talking about.

And maybe you forgot about the round of the wrc we had here a few years ago.

We are all entitled to our opinion but if you are really comparing rallying in a wrc car 'a few years back' to a wrc competeing now ?????
Anyway in my opinion hats off to every single team competing in donegal this year regardless of results or how far they get. I would only love the opportunity for 1 stage!
