Federal 's wrx would be a better buy for that money with fresh rebuild and a few choice mods.
 
Just back from seen it.. It is as dead as a maggot. It was more like 160bhp than 240 bhp. It has a greddy boost contoller/gauge and hks boost gauge. Car was beautiful to look at but did not have the power to back it up.. What would stop it from boosting properly. Looked like there was oil in the dump valve also.
 
Maybe someone replaced vaccum pipework and discarded the restrictor pill. That would have it at 0.5 bar actuator boost.


To be honest if all else is healthy then thats a small issue

You will never know until you get someone who knows what they are at to look at it
it could be a great bargaing tool if it's running sh*t and is an easy fix

Thats it keith but its hard to get someone to go have a look at it. I dont know many people that have a good knowledge of subaru..

No way knowing future head gasket


No way of knowing engine compression.

it just takes some of the risk out of buying
 
Im living in clonmel.. He is willing to meet in kilkenny and car is located in carlow.. He does also be in sligo.
 
As above . Meeting someone In a car park doesn't really get you an accurate condition of the car . It would need 2/3 hours workshop inspection with oil dropped To be 80% sure the car is in good health :thumb::thumb:

I'd never buy a car without a mechanic there especially a Subaru
if ya got it back to a garage what test could you do to know if the big end is gonna go in the future
Is there not some sort of sniffer device to test for head gasket it's all new to me any information greatly appreciated
 
There's nothing 100% but drop the oil and do a magnet test in the oil worst case 70 quid for oil. Best case fillings . Imposibal to stand over a car but usually take a chance if the rest of the car is good and bodywork clean and the price is right :thumb::thumb:
 
Can meet you in Kilkenny and look it over it with you if you want. But will be bodywork paint and usually Engine condition is all your going to see if it helps you out :thumb::thumb:
