Ya dont need to tell me mate! I came on here first and did a search for a black type R. See one for sale that looked perfect, and as I'm scrolling down I see he'd like a jap RWD. I also did a search for AE86s to see ppls opinions of them and I came across a topic about which car you'd buy if you had 20k. I then see paul v4 post up a pic of a cam which is near identical to mine. Its a silver over grey with the same kit as mine (also sold my Pro Imports), but with only standard enough spec otherwise compared to mine (it had standard engine etc.). So I think its fair to say that theres a good chance he would have liked mine. Both cars selling for similar price, so a deal surely could have been done. Of course I then see that its sold, which was followed by about 20 F words in a row from me!!:(

Do yourself a big favour and don't sell it. You will regret it forever and you wont get one as good as the one you have. I have regretted selling 2 of my old cars and in hindsight I should have kept them as track day cars or just Sunday cars. If you can afford to hang on to it, do, because you will get the Subaru you want at half the price you expected to pay if you have no trade and cash. DONT SELL IT. You know it makes sense.

This is really crossing through my mind actually. Starting to have second thoughts. Its just I'm in my final year of college. I've spent all my money I've earned I'd say on cars and yet everyday I arrive into college in a piece of sh*t Almera!! Its just really annoying me now. The plan was to enter Time Attack next year in this but with no job and alot of work to do in college I just realistically wont have the funds to. I also plan to go to Australia when I qualify (loads of jobs for civil engineers there supposedly) so will have to sell then anyway to pay for it, so I cant really justify keeping it. Would just like to have a nice car now that I can drive everyday without worrying about it too much, or where I park it etc. Something a bit more subtle and comfortable I suppose. But at the same time I'm a huge AE86 head and it will be a long time I'd say before I get another one like this spec, so I know I will regret that I didnt just bite the bullet and bear with the Almera lol! Decisions decisions!

@Paul V4: It seems I cant pm ppl as I'm not a full member? Anyway I'm really more after a Type R to be honest. I like the idea of the short ratio gearbox, forged engine, and especially the two doors. Plus that little bit more of an image about them IMO. However your STi does look nice in fairness. But I know if I went for it I'd always be thinking I should have got a type R. Its just I'm really looking to go for this kind of a look, although maybe I'm just dreaming:

Although of all the px's I've been offered it is the most tempting. Could you pm us some more info, specs, and what sort of deal you have in mind? Plus where is your type R now? If you leave your email address maybe, I could reply to you that way as I cant PM as not full member...................yet :subaru:

How about now?

Yeh recieved now . I'll have a proper look tomorrow and get back to you then

I'll give this a bump. Getting plenty of P/x offers from on here and other sites but still no type R :(. I'll consider everything but not going to commit to anything yet unless I'm really happy with the deal, as I still havent put the car up on carzone or the autotrader yet.
I'll add another pic but this really does have to be seen in person:

Yeh there the pics of it last year. Basically looks the exact same but for the smoked rear lights and front indicators. Plus a few other little changes to improve it cosmetically.

You should talk to John Newman Motors in Ashbourne, I know he really has a BIG soft spot for these. He used to rally one and he sold it years ago for a rally prepped RS2000 MK3 Escort, he said it was his worst decision ever. No harm in trying.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Stop putting pics up.... It's killing me! I f**king love this car! :icon_pray:

My girlfriend just did the Prodrift course in Mondello and is hell bent on buying a twincam! Obviously something cheaper and less clean as it would kill me to see that damaged.... but Christ I'd be a happy lad if that car of yours was in my garage!

I think I want/need another Sunday car!!!! If I win the lotto this weekend I'll take it off you immediately!!
