You did, in your first post!
To be fair if martin says get a front mount and 550's then do that! I would say get a good quality one, not cheap and cheerful,
Or maybe a Newage WRX cooler and 550's and remap to E5 with 100mm NF, That would probibly get you to the limit of your turbo 315-320bhp
I personally would only go front mount if I was getting a 20g and going for 380bhp

Sound! ....(remap to E5 with 100mm NF) changing my fuel seem's to be a good idea aswell for the map. if i was to wait out and get a 20g turbo aswell as the 550cc injectors and front mount and map on E5 with 100mm NF then i would expect near 380bhp??? ....

You'd need a fuel pressure regulator too I believe but yeah 380 would be possible. Whether your bottom end would take it long-term is a different story.

Newage sti's are happy with 390bhp,
I imagen the classic type r's bottom end it the same!
I got 386bhp on a 20g and newage wrx top mount, you should do the same but on the EJ20 your power would come later in the rev range!
Probibly full spool by 4000-4500rpm
Dan

Surely the type r motor would have all the good stuff in them,
They have heavier duty everything else,
I'd obiously take appropriate precautions, change the oil very regularly and warm and cool properly every time!
I imagen it would be grand! But I suppose it wouldn't do any harm to do a bit of googling to find someone running that kind of power on a classic type r!
Dan

type r standard engine would be ok if all is well to about 360bhp.

standard clutch won't take it.

You say fitted with new clutch and flywheel was this organic clutch kit and lightweight flywheel??

mods list on top of front mount be, (no need for 550cc injectors upgrade until engine internal upgrade)

uprated turbo,
uprated fuel reg.
remap

280bhp
250 lb/ft torque

is very low figure for your mods????

Thanks for your help Dave

yes i got an organic exedy clutch from Damo in Sp

maybe you can tell me what turbo id want? or i can get prices from yourself for the uprated turbo ,fuel reg ,re-map?

280bhp / 250 lb/ft torgue is low for the mods i have?

I thought that an upgraded pressure reg and injectors would be only needed if using a bigger turbo?

all newage sti's have heavily upgraded internals compared to a classic.
