Version 6 Sti, Water getting into the car.

Hi Guys

Most of you will know I had the rattle issue with the car last Friday - and all turned out good.

I now have second issue I?m dealing with
-water getting into the car - I?ve checked obvious areas like my roof vent and so on

- the back seats are saturated and the car is pretty much damp everywhere else.
Would anyone know if there is any specialist company that can find leaking seals or whatever the cause is ?

I?m sure someone has had similar problems like this with an Impreza down though the years ,any help or to be pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated .

First things I'd have a look at are rear lights, bootlid seal, holes for spoiler in boot lid

Thanks Seanie
Will check this out on Friday
Looked under the headliner and all along the roof is beaded with water so it must be just condensating inside the car at this point.

Go to tescos buy big bag of kitty litter and fill few socks (double up on socks) and no the missus kinky stockings wont do [emoji14]..

leave them in boot under Seats ect will help with damp when parked up and stop mould starting on seatbelts ect handy in the damp months ahead

Swap out kitty every now and then

Obviously will not a fix to water ingress [emoji106]

Get into the car close to where the leak is and have someone power hose from the outside around the area you think the leak is coming from you wont be log seeing where the water is comin in

Sounds like a rear door seal is gone . The boot seal gives problems and rear lights give problems over time butt it wouldn?t get into the rear foot wells .

Are the front foot wells dry and the boot .

Sit in the car and get someone to use a garden hose or watering can around the rear door area as it should be Cleary visible if the foot wells are full

Alright joe [emoji112]

I did a smoke test on the car today totally filled the inside and the only seal that was letting some smoke out every few seconds was the back passenger door,so I?ll order new seal see how I go,

got a mate to use the hose on the outside could see anything on th inside so it must be gradually getting in.

Update

Found the source of the leak It?s on the bottom corner of the rear windscreen ,it was making its way down the parcel shelf - then into the back seats - causing the whole car to condensate inside.
I have taken out my interior to get it cleaned and dry -good opportunity for an interior deep clean.
Just to get the back windscreen removed now and resealed will most likely replace the external seals while it been done.

Bit of luck I?ll be back behind the wheel before Xmas lol
