Hmmm that sounds plausible as eliroche's tubing was rock solid.
 
the restrictor pill wouldn't cause this as this is related to boost building and yours is there. its a little insert into vaccum pipe.
 
You can get lengths of vacuum hose in a lot of motor factors, I got a metre of 4mm for €5 in Dunboyne Auto Parts, Its really solid stuff. If ya really want the reducer I have one there
 
That piece of piping your talking about goes solid over time,its supposed to be soft,the piping on my car is rock solid and was told yesterday that it'll need replacing. Did you put a gasket between the intercooler and the the metal thing that connects to the bottom of the BOV, you could be leaking boost from there,hope this helps :thumbsup:
