Subaru Impreza WRX Full Boost Problem

Have you put a fresh set of plugs into it? That would be my first port of call, especially if car is new to you..

Also there is a difference in high revs and full boost....

Load up the car in high gear, this will bring on full boost earlier in the rev range, chances are you will get the problem now lower in the Rev range.

But if your not mechanically minded, just cut to the chase and get someone to fix it for you

It is just high revs and not full boost the problem is with. I never thought about it till you mentioned it. I still do not know what is the cause.

I drive the car everyday and it is fine just down slightly on power, like if I was to do a 0-60 run or just general overtaking and not dropping down a gear or two you will notice.

The first time it happened I turned onto a main road and gave it welly soon after I bought the car. I read the code and it said misfire in cylinder 3 and the car had to limp home. As I said I drive the car on boost fast and sometimes slow and it is fine. Second time it happened was recently I was messing in a carpark at night in the wet and didn't realize I brought the revs up to the limiter a few times and then drove out of the car park and had to limp home. Read the code the next day and it said misfire in cylinder 1 this time so I thought it was the coilpack but swaped cylinder 3 and 1 around and cleared the fault and car is back to it's usual self i.e down slighty on power.

I suppose I will have to bring it in to be tested properly by someone who knows scoobies. If anybody knows any specialist in the west let me know, cheers.
