Sunday Drivers
Hey all,

My names Peter new to the forums and also the Subaru club!

I am searching for some advice on my recently purchased Silver 00 legacy b4!

The car has failed the NCT on lambda and also suspension.

Since then there has been new spark plugs fitted and an exhaust fixed and the engine has started to jump and skip on acceleration.
The spark plugs fitted were NGK and I was told the right ones. I have bought a lambda sensor and fitting it on Tuesday.
Apparently fixing the exhaust leaking air has cause more air into the engine more boost and highlighted another issue.
Which we have yet to determine what it is!!!!

I installed new coilovers and plugs hoping to fix the problem with the NCT. :beerbang:

Since then It has failed 2 retests!!!!

I am bringing it to a garage monday or tuesday in cork who say they specialise in PRE NCT! he seemed interested on the phone. Going to ask him to look at the exhaust for more leaks and the suspension to see why it failed twice under the new suspension!

Ok last thing I promise! I feel the breaks are very weak. Under breaking I feel its running out way further than it should. It has disks all round and we have bled the system on thursday incase of leaks. All new break fluid. Not any noticeable change in stopping. The car makes a low humming noise on heavy breaking. Need those breaks for early morning traffic!! Not sure what I can do to improve efficiency or why its not performing.

The breaks recently were seized and the guy who sold me the car said they got them free using new parts.

Delighted to be here and posting,
Hopefully in time I can share my experiences with new subaru owners! :beerbang:

Peter.

Welcome along peter

ngk pfr6b should be the plugs . Was it doing it before the plugs were changed ? Did you check the gap on the plug ? Make sure the coil plugs are on in the right order back plug to the bulkhead gray to the front .

Fixing the exhaust leak has nothing to do with with air intake volume ? .

You fitted new coilovers and they are still failing because of an imbalance ?

Post up the nct fail sheet . Have you a cat fitted
