Stubborn Bolts

If anyone is familiar of the underbody of the Subaru Legacy GT. Tried to do an oil service on the car yesterday but there are 3 hex/philip head screws that hold the plastic underbody along with some clips. WD/40 or no persuasion helped to get them off. They are no long hex heads anymore :censored:. Any tips to get them off to get at the oil filter? I didn't have heat and plus it's fixed to plastic might not be the best option. Thanks

They should be a 12mm bolt with a Philips head in the middle of them . Unless they were changed .
are they rounded now on the outside or the Philips head as they should be simple enough to Open . Heat is no good there . So you will have to drill them out . Or tap an 11 mm multi spline docket on and open them that way

Yes correct on all the above there. They are just incredibly stubborn. No movement whatsovever on them. Have done about 10 oil changes on it so far so i know what's in it. Don't know what happened as they went back on no bother last time around.

Had the same car and problem once, loads if wd40 and 12 mm socket with extension will free them, let the wd40 sit overnightđź‘Ť

Cheers for the advice guys. Yeah got loads of WD40 in at them but the plastic coving them prevents getting the WD in where you want it. Will get a sockets set to suit. Might have to be the 11mm multi spline at this rate.

Also in other news. The price of the oil filters form Subaru have gone up near 5 euro in the past few years. From something that was under a tenner is now near 15 euro.

Sorry for the late response. Didn't have a spline set but picked up Erbauer Bolt & Nut Remover Set 6 Pcs and it worked a charm. Locked on and screwed off. Highly recommend.
