speedo sensor

Does anyone know the location of the speedo sensor on 1993 impreza turbo

93 is cable , one side is on the gearbox and the other is at the back of the speedo unit... the speed sensor which controls the fuel cut at 180km/h is in the ECU

can that be taken out ?have the same prob with mine.
