side extensions

Hi, I no longer own a subaru but I still see myself going back to one later on in life... I'm wondering when installing side extensions for a car do I need to pre drill holes on the underside of my car for self tapping screws or will those self tapping screws drill themselves into the cars metal body? thanks

Depends on the kit. The HT Auto ones bolt up to normal points but the front lip takes some self tappers to install. As for anything like Chargespeed/Voltex, you'll need to do some custom work, drilling out mounts. The screw provided with those kits isn't that great.
