Refurbishment thread

Cork I'd say 🤣 just kidding...but, to be fair, that could generally have just been sat in a field too like.

Also newage cars are a lot softer and metal is thinner in them . The front u frame and engine cross member and rad support suffers a lot because water flows down along it at the drivers side under the up pipe .
So they need watching and More maintenance that the classics . Which was usually just the front and rear bumper bars

Started my underbody refurb today. Sort out the few little rust spots before goes too bad. Actually not as bad as i was expecting it to be when i took off plastic undertraysView attachment 129166View attachment 129167View attachment 129168View attachment 129169View attachment 129170View attachment 129171View attachment 129172View attachment 129173View attachment 129174View attachment 129175
A good sanding back to bare metal I'd say most of that will go, looks fairly solid so far, back section and arches is usually the worst

Also I did it again lol slow progress on the Evo 7

Fair play to ya both lads, it's good to get em back to where they should be. Got a fair amount of work done on my own too lately, will stand to it for years to come
Enda
....
The standard that you go to is insane 😳 I've actually screenshot one of the underbody on your car from Instagram, would love to get it done myself down the line. Looks flawless 👌

Looks fairly good so far , its time consuming work but so satisfying when done.

Have a check of your rear brake lines where they come through the body underneath the rear seats

All the best to a beaut of a car

Brilliant being able to tackle this work by yourself Conor, advantage of shed & lift👍
Always a great start to find car in better shape than expecting. 👍👍
