Project Car rebuild, not a Subaru though.

Since i've had to park up my Subaru i don't know what to do with myself.
So i tormented my Dad and managed to get my old Cortina out of the shed!

Before it went into the shed!

Did a bit of work on it, then it stayed for years as a storage device!

Stuck on some wheels and rolled it back out(might leave these wheels on it)

Engine above is a V4, only engine i have available, so gonna put it in, hoping to have twin
exhausts coming out, rather than joinning the manifold up, should hopefully sound and look good.
Thats it for the time been, hope to have it up and running before the end of the summer.
Its not an Impreza but its the next best thing i've got

Good stuff looking forward to seen this coming along
And it will keep you out of the pub

thats beautiful

my dad had one like that, 2 door but it had a bench seat and a colum shift

Cheers lads

History wise, it came out of Cork. had no engine when

i picked it up,(bail of straw in the boot!) leather interior though, but it was too far gone to restore.

So it won't be 100% original. Someone mention it might be a GT alrite,

all i know is i can't wait to get it up and running, driving the Mrs.Yaris is killing me

Made a bit of effort with the car today.

Managed to torment the auld lad to take the old gearbox off and fit the new one.

Nice day for putting the engine in too

Wheel wise i have a set of original set that i might put on it.

Car isn't gonna be original. Just can't wait to drive something a bit different.

Been a while since i was on here, here is the latest with the Cortina

A minute from hammering it, they turned up. Found its raditator and alternator :icon_biggrin:

Also gonna put the battery in the boot too.

It really is going to be a lovely motor

You might be right Colm.
I couldn't quite remember which Escort we got them out of.

Hadn't thought of putting a youtube clip of the engine running,
but i'll try and do that too Cheers Evoman.

Latest on the Cortina. Had the window screen out to clean and paint the dash.

Uncle made up the wooden surround on the steering wheel, might darken it a bit to keep in
touch with the rest of the car.
