Petrol Fumes.

2008 sti hatch with a strong smell of fuel only when I turn on the heaters. She's been to the Subaru garage and they can't find anything. During the last service I got the pollen filter changed and no smell of fuel for about a week and a half when the heaters were turned on. Has anyone got a suggestion as Subaru Ireland seem to be stumped by it

It's definetly more petrol than exhaust fumes but I'll have a look. Also I checked the fuel lines and there seem to be no leaks that i or the Subaru garage can see

Same happened to me, fuel filter is leaking and is located close to air vents, cheap fix if it,

No bother, hope it helps, a small amount of fuel was leaking from my fuel filter right at the base and was hard to see, remapping the car caused it I think as it happened a day after mapping, about 15 euro for fuel filter

Check the fuel connections at the front passenger strut tower and also the the covers over the fuel tank and also that the pollen filter was changed and not left out

I had similar problem 6 years ago. Finnegans Ballymahon knew straight away what issue was and sorted very quickly. Took back seats out and fixed Never an issue since.

This a thing ? I just threw a new one in straight out of the package, wont know if she smells now till its back on the road next spring
