Well it makes a change from "newbie" as a subject :icon_lol: - and it's very appropriate in my case, seeing that I originally joined the forum in 2007, but I drifted away for a while in the meantime and my membership seems to have somehow got "lost" along the way somewhere... :dontknow:

Also, I've been driving sporty cars since I started driving in the 1970s, and I have every intention to continue doing so when I'm a pensioner!

I learned to drive in a Mk.1 Ford Escort G.T. and "cut my teeth" in an MGB GT with wire wheels - and seeing that nobody told me that the MG wasn't really very fast, I just drove it like it was anyway. But then I moved on to a passionate affair with a stunning Italian beauty, a Giulia GT that was the first of a trio of Alfa Romeos - and the best of them!

Now I'm on my third Subaru and my Legacy estate is just perfect for my present lifestyle, in the wilds of West Clare. Is there anything it can't do, or anywhere it can't go? :subaru:

:clap:welcome back greenwagon  think i remember you . What year is the legacy hard to beat the wagons for room  stick up a photo of it

Welcome greenwagon, 'im a west Clareman also, definitely need all wheel drive back west

Thanks guys, I'm glad at least one of ye (thinks he) remembers me! :icon_biggrin:

Yes the Legacy estates are very versatile Eoin, and Subaru handling is pretty hard to beat in West Clare alright Pedro! In fact I've had the back of mine full of furniture before now, and still passed everything in sight...

My "new" one is only a bog-standard '05 Legacy 2.0 GL, but it was (hopefully!) a bargain because it's a bit "scuffed around the edges" and the engine warning light was permanently on - it's reading a lambda sensor fault but there's absolutely nothing wrong with the emissions - the garage does van testing so checked it for me - and the mechanic thinks it's probably a temperature sensor on the blink (he has some previous experience of a similar problem because his daughter-in-law has an Imprezza...).

I'm also wanting to replace the rear shocks, but there seems to be a bit of confusion over them: KYB 341354 or 341353 rear shocks for Legacy Estate?

Here's a photo scoobysub:

And thanks for the double welcome Dave! To be sure, to be sure?

It was a rare treat when Joe was still alive - he was a great character and a great doggie man!

Now surrounded by mountainous roads in West Cork, and 70 years old (how did that happen?:dontknow:), I'm trying to sort out my fourth Subaru - a 2006 Forester that I've been given by friends in Kenmare. They'd already spent €800 on it for an NCT retest, only for it to immediately start throwing codes for secondary air system faults - so they (wisely?) gave up and bought a new car instead!

But I'm going to need some advice on dealing with this, so I'll open a new thread about it in Technical Q&A.

Welcome back
They pass nct with that code as far as I know

If it's a turbo you can delete the code

If it is a non turbo you cannot

It's not, a nct fail so drive it on
If you want to fix the code then Secondary air pumps need to be replaced (second hand) or maybe refurbished (think there is someone in Poland doing it maybe Google would know but I wouldn't bother if not necessary
