lads sorry for bringing this up again...... but im confused....

i want to import a classic shape sti and i have some people telling me i will pay the higher tax based on emissions
and more telling me it only applies to 08 registered cars after july 1........

which one is it

You will pay the new higher VRT at 36% i think it is but the old tax on any vehicle that was registered before January 2008.
 
Registered before January 2008 as its first registration in its country of origin is what i meant. So you can pretty much import anything except a new car and pay the old tax
