my pu-ka project

Started work last night fabricating the roll cage so out came seats and sound dealing etc front hoop is in place now will get more done over the next few nights

@keith the front section is 106gti the rear section is gt starlet surprised myself how close it is I have very little modifying to do to it

Great stuff dec, are you going to weld it to the hole body for some strength or jut the floor
 
I'm making steel box sections that are welded to the sill and the floor and I have welded nuts on the under side of the top of each box so it will be bolted in Johnny I'm doing it that way so the the shell can be disposable if I bin it I can just reshell it and transfer everything over to a new shell

Bit more done tonight got the centre section started and centre hoop modified to suit the ka

Hopefully get it wrapped up next week then strip the interior of the sound deadening and paint interior and cage

Did a bit more on the cage this evening, I got all of the box mounts finished and also got the two hoops fitted fully and fitted the roof bars now all that's left to do is fit door bars and rear bars :)

After the cage is done it's being painted the same orange as the wheels and the interior is being painted black also fitting electric steering column from an opel corsa

Small light and nippy is the way forward with track cars . Looks the job dec nice tight fit
 
Why would you need electric steering in a track car Dec ?

At speed is it not light anyway just thinking of my old Micra (800kg car) no power steering and 215/35 15s( serious grip ???? ) on it gave you a workout when parking but perfect weight the rest of the time
