Started work last night fabricating the roll cage so out came seats and sound dealing etc front hoop is in place now will get more done over the next few nights
@Adrian I think that could work man
@keith the front section is 106gti the rear section is gt starlet surprised myself how close it is I have very little modifying to do to it
I'm making steel box sections that are welded to the sill and the floor and I have welded nuts on the under side of the top of each box so it will be bolted in Johnny I'm doing it that way so the the shell can be disposable if I bin it I can just reshell it and transfer everything over to a new shell
Did a bit more on the cage this evening, I got all of the box mounts finished and also got the two hoops fitted fully and fitted the roof bars now all that's left to do is fit door bars and rear bars
Cheers ciaran ????
After the cage is done it's being painted the same orange as the wheels and the interior is being painted black also fitting electric steering column from an opel corsa
Why would you need electric steering in a track car Dec ?
At speed is it not light anyway just thinking of my old Micra (800kg car) no power steering and 215/35 15s( serious grip ???? ) on it gave you a workout when parking but perfect weight the rest of the time
