miss firing sti, need help.

got a 96 sti ra impreza, thats being miss firing since i bought it, there was an engine swap done on the car at some stage b4 i got it, was jus wondering if any1 would no if the wrong maf sensor or the fact the wires were cut on the driver side oxygen sensor would cause this to happen or if there is anything else it might be.. its not as bad if u gradually go up through the revs but very bad if u put the foot on the floor.. any help appreciated.. thanks boys..
 
if its just as the turbo spools then as above.maybe just a little after

cheers for replys, il look n2 that and hope can get it sorted.. let ye no when i figure it out.
 
heard of the coil packs giving trouble on them as Dave said, might be worth checking the plugs if you havnt b4, could be something simple like ceramic casing cracked and spark arcing to the surrounding head, or a burnt plug... its very like trying women.. just try the easy ones first :thumbsup:
