So the bright blue bottle caught my eye, the meguairs brand told me it was quality and it said ceramic wax on bottle. Sure how could you not give it a go. Only reason I'm posting this is I was highly impressed with this product. The ease of use and end result are very very good. So go get a bottle and tell me I'm wrong. Mighty stuff

So, what's the story with that, is there a difference between ceramic waxes and ceramic coatings?

I bought stuff at punchestown ceramic detailer it goes on easy wipes off easy wouldn?t say it a million times better than reflect detailer that I was using car still get just a dirty could off bought a gallon of reflect compared to this stuff for same money shine no different in my eyes [emoji102]

Ceramic coatings seems to be the buzz words in detailing circles of late ,

And the like of meguiars etc will jump on the marketing bandwagon to sell their product , proper ceramic coatings are seriously expensive and are a specialist item to apply , I'd be more of the opinion that the item above is little more than water that smells nice and dries up nice n quick and may have a trace amount of carnuberia in it . But that's just my opinion :hammerhead:

Yokohama bought the same I wonder how himself got on with it. It does come up nice and clean. It didn?t stop the sh*t sticking this morning to car but it does leave a nice bead on it. I honestly think you can spend time and money over cheaper stuff but difference is minimal or might be better to apply or wipe off that?s it plus I ain?t arsed after about an hour cleaning. But little and often

If its only a hydrophobic wax then it shouldn't really be marketed as a ceramic wax.
Ceramic coatings are completely different, literally a barrier so to speak. I was looking into getting the G Tecniq ceramic coatings with the applicators, but need 24hour curing time at least. Was a bit surprised when I seen the ceramic wax by Meguires. I have a cheap oul ceramic spray at home I bought AGES ago, IMO it's just a wax, or a detailer spray, but has no long term durability to be marketed as ceramic to be honest. Think it's GB Detailing brand, as I said, ages old and haven't used it since.

Ceramic coatings should only be used on a car that's had its paint been fully decontaminated and cleaned properly, once applied they should have at least 24 month durability. Supposed to be very hard to remove too.
This is the proper coatings now, but dirt literally sticks to the water on the car, rather than the paint.

I was just wondering about this one, cause obviously when doing a car for someone else, you want to make it as affordable as possible while still having some means of protection on it.
Sealants are good too, but as Tommy said, ceramics are the buzz word, and really top tier stuff

That's my take on it anyway, if I'm wrong, please do tell me as every day is a learning day

Can you let me know actually Ross in a week or so, of how it is, I'd be interested, could be something that might interest people too? And how you got on with the next wash etc ????

I agree that ceramic is current buzz word.and this is a gimmick for the actual proper job but I think it does a good job and wanted to share. Due to sh*t weather, haven't washed it in over a week. Still getting some nice beading. IMG_20190930_134725.jpg ????

But Im eager to go over it again and see.

Class, do man that would be great to hear your feedback on it.
Looks good so far anyhow lol
Thanks Ross ????????

Need to compare apples to apples. Your pishing against the wind using the meguiars as a quick spray wax or comparing it to a QD. No paint protection will last pissing time if it's sprayed on to panels that have not been decontaminated as well as being physically clean.

I got my car, wheels and brake callipers ceramic coated using Feynlab. By far the best product I have ever seen. 12 months on and it is still creating the barrier between the part and the contamination. It was baked on using UV light also, again hard to remove properly but it was applied by a professional.

Oh 100% John.
Full TFR, clay etc before coatings applied.
If none of that was done I can't imagine it would survive the next wash.
Whatever about having a cheeky polish or wax after a quick wash, ****it we've all done that, but for any protective coatings your really gonna have to thoroughly clean the paint first.
Still tho, I'd be interested to see how it holds up.

What did you do to the car prior to applying that Ross?
Feynlab supposed be good alright Eanna, was looking at the crystal serum there by g tecniq, looks very good, but like that, you need to have the car spotlessly clean before applying it.

I done a car recently that was bought from a dealer, 151.
Dealer had applied some sort of sealant or coating over the tar and all that, your only locking all the dirt and grime into the car

This will outlast G Tecniq all day long. Feynlab have a new tyre dressing out soon too.

i applied it after a normal wash , nothing fancy , no de tar , no polishing ,

wash, apply,rinse and dry .

this is nowhere near level of eanna s fenlab , but for ?10+ from halfords im happy .

ps ,eanna ,fenlab , ?? for a job like this , guessing about 300 smackers

Yes but a friend applied it for me so I didn't pay that amount.

However, there is another product that was used on the car called Krystal Kleen Detail. Doesn't have to be professional and it's nicely priced. I think KKD and Feynlab are closely connected companies.

KKD has everything you need to wash, brake cleaner, snow foam, tar remover, cloths and buckets. An endless amount of gear. They do have some type of coating also. I use the drying towels often and you just have to gently glide them over the car to dry it. No harsh rubbing needed.

I use a couple KKD products and find them excellent. Their panel wipe and citrus magic are very very good.
