Just seen on tv3 sports a little while ago that Sebastian Loeb was testing the Red Bull F1 car for them in Barcelona. Has he finished with WRC or is it just a case of testing the car and himself??

Just a sponsorship thing Mark, Red Bull sponsor both. And a bit of fun for Seb too I would imagine.

Rossi did the same in Ferrari last week, and put in some fairly respectable times too

just a sponsorship thing as Brian said, however during the week according to rallybuzz.com, Loeb did say if S2000s do come in which they are supposed to in 2010 he will retire, on the same site ford and subaru have expressed interest in doing the Galway rally as a shakesdown next year :icon_biggrin:

Super 2000 cars. Likes of the Peugeot 207 and Skoda Fabia and others.

2l non-turbo 4wd high rev drillers :icon_hang:

s2000 will be the new class grade for rallying.
The idea behind it is that WRC cars are getting so expensive to buy and maintain that the motorsport organisation want to have cars that are less expensive to buy, run and maintain. Its to safe guard the future of rallying in Ireland.
s2000 cars are currently used in rally championships in Italy and there is a few here in Ireland already being used the most recently being Austin McHale with an Opel Corsa. The most noteable change in the cars is that they will be naturally asperated (non turbo). I like the idea but dont want to see WRC cars fading out. Wont be the same

Yhat is a cool fiat all the same :icon_redface:

And let loeb off, I cant stand him and I dont watch F1 so its perfect

sickened to hear about s2000. tried before with f2 and was a frickin disaster :icon_redface:
