Octane Boostaholics
Since coming back from Orlando and Clearwater a little over 6 weeks ago I have falling in love with the states. The people, the way of life, how big everything is etc. I just cant see myself going back europe any time soon especially as its pretty much the same price as America

Looking at suprising herself in April or June by bringing her to Vegas for 5-6 nights. Have many people been from here and whats it like.

Where did you stay ? would you recommend it ? must do things etc

All help would be appreciated

Hey there,
Vegas is a great city but it's pretty full on 24hrs a day. The hotel rates vary alot. You can get some great deals during the week but the prices skyrocket at the weekends. We stayed in the Luxor hotel for a few days. It has a Egypcian theme and is shaped like a giant pyramid.Really cool. This hotel is right at one end of the strip so it's a great place to start.
http://www.luxor.com/ Book cheaper hotels off the strip at the weekend will save you cash.

A walk down the strip will take you all day/night about 10k so take some good runners. It's hot all the time day or night and very busy. There is no real dress code for any of the casinos so go casual.Entry is free. and they all have lots to see even if you dont gamble. If you at the tables or on the machine you can get served free drinks. The buffets in most casinos are subsidized to keep you in there so good value but the foods not the best.Breakfast is the best meals they do.(Hangover food.) The shopping mall is Ceasars palace is amazing but not cheap. Have a cesars salad in the italian restarant in the palace and watch the sun go down. They change the colour of the sky in the mall as the sun sets outside.

Most of the casinos have a free show in the street on the strip.Which repeat during the evenings. The light show at the Ballaggio is cool as well as the pirate show at Treasure island,Volcano outside the Mirage etc.

Its worth taking a helicopter ride over the grand canyon if the town is to much for you. They fly from the airport at one end of town. Brilliant and not so expensive.
You can hire lots of tasty cars if you buget will allow(Prowler Challenger,Charger) but other than driving up and down the strip theres not many things outside that to see just lot of desert.
The Hoover dam is ok for a visit if you are interested. You can go by coach and its a half a day trip. Its in 2 time zones between Arizona and Nevada. Bit of a laugh.Take the dam tour.lol.
Make sure you catch a show. You can get tickets from the hotels when your there but the best thing would be to book in advance.Pends who you like.
Roller coasters outside New York New York is cool but try Insanity at the Stratosphere if youv'e got the minerals.

Enjoy.

Great informative post above which I can't add to only to say great spot and very reasonable for flights and accommodation. We stayed in d Paris hotel, great location and hotel, if u can stay in d bellagio do, class hotel. We did the helicopter ride over grand canyon which was brilliant, do d theme ride on top of the stratosphere hotel, I'm heading back next year for my 40th but herself is going two :icon_cry:, enjoy

Serious spot. We stayed in the Mirage. Nice hotel but they all are really. Another vote for the heli tour, well worth doing. We saw 2 shows while we were there. Love which is absolutely brilliant. Defiantly worth going to see. The Blue Man Group, well the less said about that the better. You can't not enjoy Vegas. Pool parties during the day and any amount of clubs. The Playboy club in The Palms is pretty cool but expensive and also The Ghost Bar is deadly. Shopping in Caesars is great as are the outlet Malls.

Yea was there last year for Sema, stayed in the bellagio, serious place worth staying there for breakfast alone, we hired a challanger and drove out to the Hoover dam and did the tour, its a long bus ride out. and we also did helicopter ride with Sundance to the canyon, would recommend. And as the lads said the shows are class, think britney is still there aswell.
