It's Here

One thing I love about the Impreza, particularly the classic, is the mean, frowning, snarling face it has... this new Impreza seems to have gone all friendly, with a nice smiley face and I can't stop thinking that Subaru designers were influenced by Disney to appeal to a wider market... :dunno:

- but only for a minute ...

Thanks johnny5, yes that's what I thought when I first saw one. It's a classic Bertone design built from 1963 to 1977, and (Italian racing) red is absolutely the only colour for them! My heart still skips a beat when I see a rare example these days (there's one around Tralee the odd time). If you'd like to see and hear one in action, check out this on-board clip from YouTube: http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=Vsb3ZXVHPZg where it's defeating a Lotus Cortina (the old foe!) in the rain.

I've seen them described as having "long legs and a beautiful body", and even my girlfriend compared mine to a tempestuous Italian actress when she named the car "Gina" after Gina Lollobrigida - some say the most beautiful and most glamorous actress of all time.

After my MGB it was great fun to have a car that actually stood a chance of beating a 3-litre Capri or a Lotus Cortina back in the '70s , and most drivers didn't have a clue what it was, or of its potential (especially after I transplanted a 2-litre into it  ;)) ...

Sadly all I have left of it now is the GT1600Junior badge off the boot lid and the Driver's Handbook :( , but that was the best £600 I ever spent!

... normal service will now be resumed:  :subaru:

stratos, 037, integrale, s4 STOP IT :D

thats just car porn
