well folks my laptop is getting fooked and was looking at ipad 2 in currys today 16gb wifi 3g for 599euro or 34gb 699euro

i dont know anything about them or prices there making and how would ye rate them any your help is great appreciated

If your an apple fan they are great. If not they are just an over priced tablet.

If your looking to replace a windows laptop the I pad might not be the best choice its more of an extra gadget you buy for stuff on the go

I have ipad 1 16gb wifi and its a great piece of kit but to be honest only for the miss got me one last xmas id have never bought one.
I have tons of apps and music etc but i have spent a good few euro on them.
Its defo not a laptop replacement very limited in what you can do without buying specialist apps
Also remember you cant download anything and everything onto it either.
Id buy a laptop theres some nice ones going for good prices on the net have a look at

I was using one tonight and there a nice big iphone as far as im concerned, but very portable.
Ul have to pay for the 3g, think he said its 20 a month or something.
And if you break anything, there costly to fix and has only one speaker.

If its a tablet your after, what about the sony or the toshiba, they have usbs and hdmi connections.

Asus transformer is the best selling, best supported tablet out there at the minute, you can buy a keyboard dock for it which also gives you 2 usb ports and sd card slot and an extra 8 hours battery life, giving you 16 hours in total. If you wait a bit the Transformer 2 should be out soon, but that also means the original transformer should drop in price

thanks for the help...

most of what i do on internet is emails and facebook donedeal etc so thats why i thought a tablet would suit me.. from what i could see was you just pick it up and your straight on to what you want and then leave it down... the laptop has 5 min to get going

Toshiba laptops have quick start, less than a min to start up.
Only reason i got one because it started up fast.
Probably all new laptops are the same
