I might be dumb but whats the difference between a dump valve and a BOV?

Same thing.......BOV=blow off valve

Both have the same sound? Difference between a forge and a hks is only different manufactuers?

HKS tends to be louder then the forge.......forge is a lot cheaper and still gives a decent sound

i have the 96-99 one in my car. does this mean i have a different intercooler? mine is a 99

Is yours bolted on to the intercooler??? or connected to a hose coming from the intercooler??

Connected onto a big hose coming off the intercooler and a small hose coming off the bottom?? My intercooler looks smaller than some i've seen in pictures on the site

96/98 has that intercooler.......98/00 has the one where the dump valve bolts on... you can get a HKS dump valve for either type, they come with a fitting kit depending on year and model.

thats a v3/4 engine............

with a v3/4 WRX intercooler!!

Seems to have been changed alright never seen that one on an STi only on a WRX....... HKS bov on an STi  >>>>>>>>>>>
