Just brought the pup on her first walk she was very good not to jumpy and did what she was asked just gave her a short 20min to start with she was not to pully on the lead so I am very pleased with her and well mannered around other people and dogs any tips to help bring her on would be great many thanks John L.

never let them pull, always get them to walk beside you or behind you, i use "wait" or "heel" for that. if letting her off the leash use treats to get her back everytime you call give treats randomly so she doesnt know when she will get a treat or not!

great stuff john, lots of good techniques out.

when going out dont get your dog excited by asking them are they going for a "walk", they will just start barking with excitement and then they will then to pull on the lead.

try going on a different as much as possible as the dog will get into a routine and tend to just pull in that direction.

imo, i wouldnt use treats, as it tends to turn dogs off there mean meal but if you have to, no worries just dont go over board.

be carefull of other dogs, always ask the owner if there dog is safe to socialise with, one bite from another dog could change your dogs hole out look when confronted by another dog again.
