Middle Lane Hogs
Hi all

Its been about 9 years since i sold my last legacy b4. Missed it ever since.

I've been a very lucky guy now to inherit a 98 impreza 2.0 na. The car is of sentimental value to me more than anything, its got 296000 miles on it not kilometers and starts first turn and no oil burning.

What it needs:
Some tightening up on the front end, ball joints, trackrod ends, and bushings.

My idea for next year is to get it tightened up as much as possible.

Likes for next year:
Replace ball joints.
Replace bushings all over.
Replace all track rod ends. (Possibly steering rack)
Replace wheel bearings. (Although not an issue at the moment)
Replace all brake hoses.
Replace/Rebuild brake calipers, discs and drums.
WRX alloys.
Tracking.
Window regulators.
Full respray.

2022
Buy a doner wrx.
Swap out engine loom, engine, gearbox and other parts.

Thanks for reading

John

Sounds like it'll be a great project John, looking forward to the updates, welcome along 😎

Welcome back John 👍 sounds like a big project 👏 . Best of luck with it . The first part is simple enough with general maintenance and changing parts . But the engine swap part will take a bit more work regarding wiring looms and Ecu to run the turbo engine in an na car but it can be done 👍.
Post up a few photos of I and keep the progress coming 👍👍👍

Thanks for the replies lads. After mulling this over and talking to mechanics over the last few weeks I think my best options are just to restore the Impreza to it’s original glory with a respray and part 1 above, appreciate it for what it is.
With the money I’d spend on swapping out looms engine gearbox and the rest I’m probably better off just buying a wrx or b4. Then I’ll have 2 😎
Any thoughts ?

John
