hi lads anyone know what the story with small vans and nct or doe. the fathers has a 05 1.4 corolla van taxed privately and has never got a doe or nct on it but whats the legal position on it or being stopped at a checkpoint .

If there is no rear seats i think its a DOE it goes for?? Probably best to get it done with these new fines and points coming in.

if you commerically tax and insure the van...then its a doe....
if you privately tax and insure the van ...then its an nct IIRC... :ponder2: :ponder2:

I have a caddy van and its taxed pirvate. Done the DOE a few weeks ago, handed in the cert to the tax office and no bother with it. Think its €85 for the DOE and 288 for tax

doe is a less strict test than an NCT!!!!
would be more inclined to doe rather than nct myself!!!
