Battery replacement

Rob Spec C

Octane Boostaholics
Think my battery is nearly dead so want to replace it ASAP. But it is a standard size battery and I want to replace it with a spec c sized battery. Obviously not going main dealer but is this something more specialised or would any motor factors be able to sort me out?

Anyone know the original size of the spec c batteries?

Want to get the spec c one, the original is 34B19L which is 34Ah. Looking at a varta now which is the same size but is 45Ah and 300CCA so will be pricing that on Monday along with a Bosch one. Was in the motor factors there and the standard uk code for it seems to be 048. Don't imagine it will be a huge cost seeing as it seems to be a standard carried item, just not listed for Subaru.

What would be a standard cost for an impreza battery in varta or Bosch? €100 or so?

Last battery I got was for the A4... as it is a 3.0Tdi it is a much bigger power battery (though size not that much more) and cost me €98 lids in the local factors for a top of the range Bosch Silver Plus S5 010 with 800A cold crank and 85Ah general rating. The 048 should be a bit cheaper and would estimate 75-90 depending on where you get it. Go for the Silver Plus range as they last much longer and have great cold crank ratings too.

Got one in halfords for mine a few months back.
Wasn't dear with trade card.
Only problem was the pole were on the other side of the battery compared to the original.
Still fits fine and not noticeable at all, just a little stretch to get the leads on.

3 year warranty on halfords batteries too which is handy.

Do you remember what UK code you bought it off grahamo? The standard size is 34B19L but you can get a 40B19L which has 310CCA, can't find a UK 3 digit code though, doesn't seem to be one.

Now that you can do pics, can you post one up for me?

Ordered up a Bosch S4 battery today, uk code for it it is 054 in case anyone needs it. The lengthy and width are same as standard spec c battery but it's slightly taller. Gives better amps per hour and cca than standard.

To go with a correct size battery would have bed a nightmare to first find and the cost a fortune. The Bosch is costing €74 but I'll hopefully get it for slightly less.

054 is Standard oem equipment on no less than the Nissan Micra so I know now it can handle performance :multijump:

It's half the weight of the one in there at the moment so a lot easier to manoeuvre
