which is ur preference?

a mate has told me that a rolled down window will waste more petrol than a/c because of drag and the likes. he reckoned it was fact but idunno. wat yis think?

It actually depends on what type of driving your doing..stop-start traffic having window down is better at motorway speeds the a/c is more efficient

They did a test bout this on a program on the discovery channels, "Mythbusters" and they got two jeeps, filled them with the exact same amount of petrol and put them on an oval circuit, one with windows down and one with air con on. they both went the exact same speed around the track and the windows down beat it for economy. fact!!

according to top gear jeremy clarkson has managed to get a diesel audi from scotland to london on 1 tank by

1. keeping the car stereo off
2. windows closed
3. keeping to a speed of 55 mph alll the way
4. keeping the a/c and demisters off

i tried that on a short journey as i was low on fuel and had no money and the results were yes i saved a lot of fuel but

1. it was boring as hell
2. too damn sunny and i lost 2 stone in weight
3. trucks kept passing me honking and shaking their fists
4. couldnt see a bloody thing for the last 30 miles
