Golf R is in a similar performance bracket, yet tax is only €570 on that. If I was in the market for a car with that spec, the golf would make more sense to me, especially as the latest haldex seems to be the most performance orientated.
Is there any slightest chance, that they would manage, perhaps in two years time, to lower the CO2 to 225? that would then be 1200 for tax per year, and that is imho reasonable... but 2300, thats fookin robery
Between car being hard sprung and Tommi's erratic steering inputs looked like a 7:55 fight instead of a team of car and driver working together as one to put in a good time. Don't doubt it was fast... but hardly pretty in places.
