2003 Spec C Impreza

I recently bought a 2003 Spec C with 105 klm.
When I rev up hard it grinds sometimes going into 5th gear. All others are perfect.
The car has been dry stored for years, and I’ll need to do gearbox and diff oil changes.
Would this solve it and any advice on the correct oils would be appreciated.

Probably needs a synchro on 5th , Ali burrows up north is very good with them , did one for me 10 years ago , still going strong

Welcome along. Throw up some photos/get a thread going on the SpecC.

75w90 for the gearbox and LSD oil for the rear diff. I used Millers on my last change. CRX 75w90 NT+ for the gearbox and CRX LS 75w90 NT+ for the rear diff.

With the price of gear oil, I'd say throw it to Ali and get both done together rather than doing the gear oil hoping it'll remedy the grinding and then you end up needing to drain and drop the gearbox anyway.
