The problem is you have to pay the VRT they ask for up front and then try to appeal it, some win some lose. But its a gamble. It's sickening to see the cars my mates own up north and we are been forced to almost double the price to have the same down here.
If a car in the north is 10k sterling, then a basic rule of thumb is double the figure and convert to euro, leaving it as 20k euro down here! I'd almost be tempted to keep it on yellow plates as my Impreza, when I get it, will only be a second for me and not a day to day car.
