Diff problem?

Sunday Drivers
Well lads, just a quick one for ye before I head over to the Subaru garage.when I have full lock on the car it will turn no problem.granted I get the usual fight between the wheels to grip the tarmac.
When I hit the dccd switch and regardless of whether the power is set for front/rear there is a very bad grinding noise coming from where the rear diff is.any ideas?

What setting have you on the DCCD? It should be fully open for normal everyday driving.

If you lock the diff on tarmac and turn you will get grinding/clunking noise as it shouldn't be locked on tarmac.

Have you the diff set to open for turning at slow speeds? If you lift the handbrake slightly it automatically disengages the dccd back to full open on the classics i assume its the same for new age.

It's always on automatic.when I flick it to manual it will grind.doesn't matter if I change the power from 80% front to 80% rear,it will still grind.then I flick it back to auto and it stops grinding. :ponder2:
