Tgv deletes info anyone?

I see this mentioned around from time to time anyone on here with a wrx done this?

Is it the butterfly valves inside the manafold of the wrx that aren't there in the sti red manafold ?

Red somewhere the tgv helps with cold start emissions is there any advantage for me to do this?

With my set up

Vf35
3inch pipe work
Sti pinks
Sti top mount
Sti uppipe
& sports cat

Also Would there be a advantage to fitting the red manafold if it's already in it (apart from the look).. :dontknow:

No advantage fitting red manifold bar looks. So that be deciding factor.


Yes advantage fitting tgv deletes. They are prone to sticking.

Be no power increase over what you have tbh. But if ever had manifold off be good time to do it.


Yes 110% needs be mapped afterwards also to turn off cel codes

i think most jap models have them as standard, well mind did :) I sold a set a few months ago

It looks like a big restriction having them in
Was going to do this mod to mine but it has it done from Subaru
 
I did on mine. Fairly simple job. Mine was starting give trouble. Mapped after.
As Dave said no need to replace all manifold it's only lower part of it.

What was happening when it was giving trouble?
Why is it on the wrx and not the sti?

Sounds like the same silliness as the wrx having a pre cat in the uppipe and the Sti having a straight pipe..

Didn't feel anything wrong. Just engine light came up as my tgv stuck open. So wasn't notice any other side effects.
