Radiator replacement - connection to inlet hose very dry?

I'm changing out my radiator this weekend, when I've removed the radiator hoses, I thought the inlet looked quite dry? The car has not run in about a week. Is it normal that the inlet would be this dry?

Thanks in advance

Yep I noticed a weep on the top of it, no obvious cracks, so I said I'd replace it before it developed into something more serious. Original rad so it owed me nothing.

Was the radiator leaking

If you had a leak there was obviously coolant loss , hence why the connection is dry 👍🏻

What way did you drain it down . As if left drained down it would dry up . Or did you just pull the pipe and it was like that . If temp was ok then it was a little low
