hi guys
power steering pump broken having issues getting another one Subaru looking 900 euro plus vat 5 week wait
the part number in mine is FEO 313530d 2.5 hawk 2006
ebay part numbers for same car are
34430-FE040 34430-FE041 34430-FE042
even though the numbers are different the pumps pictured are very similar to mine both high pressure and low pressure pipes are fed to the top of the pump all help greatly appreciated thanks
 
Got one from scoobynet breaker myself few years back second hand so is a risk but turned out fine
 
They are sensitive to "poor" maintenance.
Regular PS fluid refreshes (same time as brake fluid etc) are the way to keep them going for big mileage (even though not mandated in the service schedule).
If the steering gets heavy / belt squeals despite right tension and fresh belt... then a full fluid refresh can make it all grand again (and fingers crossed no internal wear due to old fluid). As Joe previously pointed out... do not let the pump go dry during fluid refresh!
