New squeaky shoes…

Hi, I’m just wondering wether the new shoes on new rear discs are noisy because they are settling in? Or is it a case something is up? TIA

Usually it’s new discs rubbing on the backing plates on the hubs, the only way to stop this is machine a couple of mm off the inside of the hand brake bell on the new discs before fitting, either that or new back plates

Can be a bit of a nightmare if you just fit them as they’ll have to come off again unfortunately

Is it particularly when turning?

Thanks Baz, not particularly when turning. Will take them off and have a look again. Not gone anywhere so hopefully no damage done. Will have a look at what you said. Appreciate your help.

Also are they adjusted right . So usually you have to back off the little adjuster cog to get the discs off . If you pull the discs off it usually pulls the springs and bends the pin clips . And adjust back out for the new disc .
Is it just a rubbing noise or a metal on metal on metal noise on rotation

Thanks, Scoobysub… Will take a thorough look at that… noticed the bungs have probably overlooked that 😅

My mistake… new springs were too big as soon as too hubs off and looked could see they were too wide. All sorted thanks for your in put… hopefully that will be it for a while. Should have sized them beforehand
