nct new laws

i heard a couple of new laws are coming in, noise levels, window tints, and cars older than 10 year have to get a yearly nct. are these true???
 
Heard about the cars older than 10 years needing to be tested each year,
there was some expert on 102 earlier saying there was no reason for it,
he said we've a better system here than the uk have and we are inline
with the european standards, imo its just another way to bend us over
and take our money, at the end of the day if your car is certified safe
then there should be no differance with old or new cars
on when they need testing :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:
 
nct itself is a joke......

the mother took my fathers car today for test...
it failed on the cv boot insecure....
i took the wheel off and saw that it was ok so i drove it back in this evening....
without doing anything to the car it passed...
now fair enough it was a free visual check but i had to drive it to nenagh as thats where he booked it in..
but it was a 45 min drive each way and waiting 20 mins in test centre for someone to come out and check it.....
 
I can see the yearly testing coming in without a doubt. If there is a way to further screw the motorist then it will be by yearly testing.
 
i hate the way this country is run,

but i love the country. i wouldnt move till i got older tho,

gives the government another few years of bending me over :wall:
