NCT and 200 Cell sports cat

Anyone know if a 200 cell sports cat will pass the NCT? The foz failed the NCT on emissions and the mechanic recons the cat is probably bad (tis an oem exhaust on the car atm). I was looking at getting a full Hayward & Scott system from the turbo back. 200cel should be plenty, majority of lads use 100cel in UK, which is fine for MOT but not for NCT here.
H&S real good brand too man, I have the cat back.

it’s usually not the cat as they don’t really go bad unless you punch a hole through it or it gets contaminated with oil or something . Fire up the fail sheet and will have a look.
200 cell will might pass for a few years but it’s not your issue I’d say . Factory cats are about 600-750cell when comparing to after market ones hence why they pay top monet for scrap for standard cats and won’t even take after market ones

Idle was very high, when I bought the car Dave at RSR did the TBelt and general service and he said the downpipe was blowing and he welded it to fix it. Maybe that's the issue?

Yes could well be
your lamba is reading low which means it’s running Rich . Change the lamba sensor be my first call if you haven’t changed it about 100 quid and see then

Sounds good @scoobysub I'll get a new lambda sensor and see if that sorts it .
