I have a HKS turbo timer and every 4th or 5th time I start up the car ignition fails. Initially I had to wait for the timer to go through a cycle before the car would start but now its up to 4 cycles before it will start. Any ideas? Had a time before on a previous Subaru and never had this issue.

I wouldn't have thought it was the turbo timer as its job would really be letting the ignition run when key removed (so engine/turbo can cool then shut off)
Mabay ignition issue or bad/ key immobiliser ?..if you have a spare does it do the same with that key?

Also worth looking into if fuel pump is priming turn the key to the ready position and you should hear the fuel pump prime every time
