Diagnostic scan

Can anyone help - my car failed the nct for high emissions. Spoke to my mechanic who said his diagnostic scanner wouldn't talk to subarus (?). He thinks it may be the temperature sensor that is gone, but would need it confirmed by a scan first.

Anyone know where I might get this done in the south east? (without going to main dealer)

My scoob had more or less the same problem for its NCT, its a 95 jap import got the temp sensor replaced as well as the lamda sensor.
Could have done the temp sensor myself in the end ah well. Subaru up in Crumlin(01 4551196) had it for 3 days, i tried 3 garages before them, but lucky
they had a scan tool for older models. Hope that helps.
