Well lads, now that summer has finally arrived(touch wood) and at long last I actually have a car worth washing, I was wondering what's the best way to get the car to look its best. Previously, I was just a water and suds man, but now I want my car to glisten in the glorious Irish sun so was wondering about what products to use, what processes etc.

She's gotta be shiny for Japfest!!
 
I just use Maguires car shampoo.
Auto glym wax, Auto glym resin polish and then Auto Glym high gloss finishing resin.

Maguires do a good tire shine too.

Takes a while but gives a decent finish.
 
I use maguiars too, not only a good clean but smells well too!!!
And best of all, Halfrauds sell it and often include washing products in their 3 for 2 offers so stock up when that happens. Microfibre cloths are probably the best way to go.
If you want to get real anal about cleaning have a look at scoobynet, they have a whole section on cleaning, 2 bucket washes & all sorts of specialised detailing tips.

sorry lads cant help you now ,but the misses will be finished the garden soon and if she has enough time ill get her to tell me how she cleans my car,in fairness she always does a great job
 
Have used a clay bar Kanye,have to say the amount of sh*t that comes of the car is unreal-

If you have silver or chrome wheels, after they are clean a bit of baby oil brings them up nice and shiny.
