Anyone have any opinions/experience with the XV?

Not for me, friend of mine is looking at one and asked my opinion on them. If it was a petrol I'd have some hope but the only thing I know of the diesels is avoid avoid avoid the older ones.

Any opinions or comments welcome.

Any Euro 4 diesel engines avoid. They improved in mid 2012 when the XV was launched here with the Euro 5. For best piece of mind go for 2015 onwards that should have Euro 6 engine.
I've had two Forester with Euro 5 with no issues and currently on my first Euro 6 (and probably last as they have now stop making them).

Cheers, yeah it's a 2019 he's looking at. Low mileage (60k ish kms), engine a safe enough bet so then.

As above what James has said . Check the service history too as Sometimes the injectors are calibrated during serving but at 60klm wouldn’t be much need
