50 profile or 55 profile?

Looking for new tyres for my GC8 turbo 2000, the standard tyres should be 205/55 16, but there are currently 205/50 on it alround. Do I stay with 50 profile, or return to 55?

The main reason I ask is the 55 profile are significantly cheaper for an otherwise identical tyre, and also that is how the car should be.

Opinions and thoughts please!
 
The difference in the two tyres is approx 10mm, it's nothing major.. Either way I wouldn't worry...
If two identical sets if tyres were there one set 50s and the other was 55s, which ever was cheaper is what I would be buying....
Last owner probably picked up part worns maybe in 50's
 
Seems the information I was given was wrong, 50 profile are what I should be running, answers that question!
