Type R Cam Shaft Seals

Sunday Drivers
Recently placed a big order with the lads with icp.

Anyway I ordered camshaft seals in the order.

Mine aren't leaking, but possibly 20 years old.

So in two minds of changing as I dont want the new ones leaking ( which i have seen happen)

Alternative is to rub some threebond on the outer side of the seal.

So do I :

1. do I leave alone and dont fix whats not broke
2. replace with threebond
3. replace without threebond

Also just to add she has been sitting for 8+ years, I don't want to be driving it for a month and she starts pissing either, seeing as I am doing the belt.

It really up to you to make the decision, while you’re there changing the belt it would make sense . But there’s also the crank seal at the oil pump , that could piss and when you’ve it all back together and driving the rear crank seal could piss .
If you’re that worried about leaks I’d pull the engine out and go through it and give it a Birthday after 8 years but the decision really is yours , everyone’s different

Rear one was done when I put in the new clutch.

I've ordered a new oil pump and front crank seal also.

I suppose I will be doing them, just as to will I use the threebond or not.
