Legacy Heater problems

I have a 2010 legacy Estate .

Have problem in that the heater has stopped working on passenger side .

No matter how high heater is set there is only heat coming out on drivers side non on passenger .

Doesn't matter if dual heat turned on or off .

Been told it is probably a big job involving removing dash to get in to actual matrix .

Has anyone had similar issues and if so did you get it sorted and how.
Would a heater flush work ?

I am not certain if it is matrix or some of the actuators ?

Thoughts folks ??

Folks

Anyone got any suggestions about my question ?

Try back flush the heater coil. disconnect both lines and using a garden hose and very hot water, flush the coil - do it in both directions and about a dozen times - sometimes crud can clog the passenger side of the coil.

There’s also an actuator for the passenger side mix which can act up

As Far as I know the matrix is a single unit so if it's working on the drivers side it's not opening up on the passengers side . Is there any Air at all blowing out or just cold air

Going to try the flushing to see if that works .

If not is getting at the acctuator a pain?

Any links to show where and how ??

looks something like this, have not replaced on subaru but have on countless other breeds.
remove or fold down glovebox and look at side of centre console behind radio and heater controls should be there, disconnect motor and see if you get heat when manually activated, should diagnose your problem

Think I will try the flush first sometime over next few weeks .

If that doesn't help them go looking at the other suggestions .

Would be handy if Haynes or someone did a manual for it .

I haven't been able to find one .
Does such a manual exist ?

if it is a single heater matrix ( not sure) i'd imagine there should be same temp both sides if blocked or not

usually handy to get at just take out your glovebox, be easier check that first than flush the heater matrix

i'm assuming you have dual control heaters for left and right side?
